Arun, the bratty son of a barrister, is displeased when he stands second in the school examination, losing the first rank to a modest girl Lily Fernandes. Blinded by his petty ego, Arun tries to crush Lily's growing popularity in school. Lily, however, tolerates him and his friends' nasty remarks as she bears no grudge against him. But time brings the two souls together and love blossoms between them. Their parents agree to get them married. But nothing remains the same when Lily is diagnosed with leukemia.
